A Crooked Barn Charcuterie

Nature’s Market is pleased to announce a new and exciting vendor. Chef, Pete Cacace is now making his specialty sausage right here in Nature’s Market commercial kitchen.

Chef Pete is from Boston where he worked at Bistro du Midi for 6 years as a Sous Chef. He Came to Vermont in 2021 after the pandemic and created “A Crooked Barn Charcuterie”. Initially he set up production in West Rupert, Vermont where he processed meat and then set up at various Farmer’s Markets.

It was the Manchester Farmer’s Market where Chef Pete met John Maltezos; owner of Nature’s Market where he now processes his sausage. The rest, as they say, is history.

“A Crooked Barn Charcuterie” is a chef-inspired charcuterie and sausage production company with one goal – create a wide range of charcuterie items featuring locally and sustainably farmed raw ingredients. Owner Pete Cacace has more than a decade of experience working as a restaurant manager, cook, sous chef and executive chef. This experience prepared him to develop techniques, processes, and recipes that have a proven track record of success.

K&L Hallow farm from Cambridge, NY is Chef Pete’s pork farmer/supplier which features forest raised American Mulefoot pork! Bob Wood in Pawlet,VT is his beef supplier.
